Team Laffalots
Team Laffalots began in 2008 with four friends from South Berwick with the Boston Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, 2009 Washington D.C. saw the team double in size and it raised more than $20,000. 2010 our team grew to 11 and saw our first annual Field of Dreams Homes Run Derby. 2011 we are now 12 walking and still growing. We've set our fundraising goal high to help put an end to breast cancer. We hope you will be able to join us for our 2nd Annual Home Run Derby!
"Not only will this event bring our community together for a family day of baseball, it will educate our community in a small way about breast cancer, how it affects so many people and what we can do when we come together...we make things happen and make a difference!
Our Marshwood baseball players will be able to help out in many ways during the Derby and gain community service hours. On the baseball end, it can show everyone what a great baseball program we have and how passionate the coaches are about the game. It will show all the children that attend how to work as a team (laffalot that is), how unselfish it is to raise money for diseases, and how much fun you can have with your friends, hosting an event that helps others in need! Reaching out and doing something for someone you don't even know touches/opens your heart in ways you can't even imagine...it just plain "makes your heart grow big" :)
We have a HUGE tent, a popcorn machine, a cotton candy machine, and snowcone machine courtesy of Marshall Rental Center in Kittery Maine! We can't thank you enough!!! Thank you for making our first annual Field of Dreams Home Run Derby a huge success!
Nature's Way Market in downtown South Berwick will be hosting the Barbeque for Team Laffalots 1st Annual Field of Dreams Home Run Derby. Pack a hungry stomach and get ready to sample their delicious meats and dogs!
